"Great location….but that’s what you’re paying for.
Check in was fast and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There are umbrellas to use in the rainy weather and the front concierge staff are happy and greet you nicely.
The location is convenient- close to all main sites of NYC but just far away enough from the noise and bustle so you can have a peaceful night’s sleep. Air conditioning can be adjusted as our room got a little too cool for our comfort.
The luxury king room high floor itself is disappointing. Quite a bit more in cost compared to a standard king room, the room doesn’t have any fabulous views or even a bathtub that can accommodate someone comfortably. One website advertises the luxury king rooms have a ‘spa bath’. This is fact is not true and incorrect. Room slippers are very nice and there are enough towels for 2 people.
Pillows are too soft and the room furniture is tired-looking. Some peeling wallpaper as well indicating the need for a refit.
For the money, there’s no breakfast either and if you wish to extend your checkout after 11am, it’s $100 for 1-3 hours. A bit rich, considering you’re better off getting a lounge pass at the airport or simply go for a walk around this amazing city. To compensate, there’s an awesome diner 50m from the hotel that serves fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Bathroom products are lovely- Balmain and there’s only 1 bathrobe in the room, which I thought was strange, considering the booking was for 2 people. No minibar either… why is this?!
I would stay again simply because of the location but I would not pay for the luxury king room high floor again, as it’s not worth the money. Keep the location but take a standard room."

"I love Arlo. I stay at Arlo pretty often. But this time was off. I came back to my room in the evening, they cleaned it, but they didn’t take out the trash from the terrace and it started the rain. And I didn’t have coffee capsules (pods) at all. I called to reception and girl was like oh do you have a coffee machine in your room I was like yes I do. And a guy came at 11pm and was cleaning the terrace."
"Excellent location within a short walk to almost every subway line. Unfortunately that means it can be a little loud, but it never woke me up.
Incredibly friendly staff are always on hand, 24/7.
The included breakfast is more than adequate; bagels, juice, yoghurt, pastries.
The room has a good shower, comfy bed, and good TV with chromecast-ability."
"Twin room, okay. The rooms in New York are simple enough, with no computers or chairs. Sit on the floor. The cleaning staff are all Chinese, with good attitudes and serious work. The surrounding facilities are first-rate: banks, food, Mart, and mobile phone cards. Solved on foot. The surrounding area is full of various styles of food."
"Location, location, location! The main attraction is a prime location, which is equivalent to Nanjing West Road on the Bund in Shanghai. The room area is large on Fifth Avenue, but it is much smaller than the storefront and the front desk, and you may even miss it if you pass by. After moving in, you can go shopping in Times Square, overlook the night view of the Empire State Building, appreciate the giant Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza, and eat barbecue snacks in Korean Street. It is very convenient. The bathroom uses the famous French fragrance brand Diptyque. Glass bottled water is very environmentally friendly. When you call to order water, 5 bottles will be delivered in a large paper bag."
"Our best hotel in NYC - very satisfied with the people who work here and also the service.. I would like to stay here again and in other countries I always liked Westin but the recognition of the brand image has been better!! I give 6 stars out of 5!"
"I would rate the hotel adequately nice. However, a state of readiness of the room and the room's amenities (desk and a/c or heater) are in a poor state compared to the hotel's rate of $450 a night. When I got there, a wall-mounted/foldable desk was not in state for immediate use. I had to call a maintenance to do a quick computer work. If a check-in time is 16:00, I expect furnitures to be working. Overall, the room design is cute (somewhere between boutique and small studio room without a fridge). And, it is clean. However, beddings were lesser qualities that I expected to come from a $450 a night hotel. It is comparable to the ones from Holiday inn's or average hostels. They were thin also. Definitely bring pajamas if you are sensitive to cold. A heater here makes a noticeable vibration with bothering noise. I was too tired from waking up from it. But, it is quite a bother when you are just relaxing. Other than that I really like the overall design of the room and facilities that come with the room. However, quality of amenities are not really upto the standard of the rate of the hotel. Purely it is a business trip that prioritizes convenience in terms of location.
I would not mind booking this place if I were to travel alone. However, for a couple, I would not since it is quite small. Overall, single traveler would like it but for a couple may be suffocating (double room)."
"The hotel is in an unbeatable location. There is a popular Italian restaurant, an ice cream shop, and a Starbucks downstairs. Across the street is the high-end Lincoln Center. A few minutes' walk will take you to banks, breakfast shops, and Target. It is also very close to Columbus Circle, and you can take the subway to various attractions. However, except for the lobby, the hotel looks like a high-end hotel. The decoration style of the corridor is weird, the room area is small, and the facilities are so simple that it is only at the level of home. Details include: the bathroom is so small that only one person can stand; there are no glasses in the room, whether it is drinking water or brushing teeth, they are all disposable paper cups. Fortunately, most of the time I walk in the city and just go back to the hotel to sleep. Anyway, I will not choose this hotel again next time."

AAnonymous UserThis should be an old hotel that has been completely renovated. The room is very beautiful and stylish, and every item is very exquisite. The bathroom is small and the shower water is small, which may be due to the renovation of the old building. But it is worth staying. The bar downstairs looks very good at night. The food ordering in the room tastes great! And fast! There is a small problem. When you deposit your credit card at the front desk, you must bring a chip.
KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there, and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-) either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!
JJanine7AMAZING value for money. The staff is super friendly and the guests are very international and social. The hostel offered lots of free activities every day. I was amazed by their sightseeing tours, yoga or karaoke. Amazing company and offering!
GGuest UserHotel experience: In terms of hotel experience, users are generally satisfied with the cleanliness, comfort and novelty of the hotel facilities. For example, one user mentioned that the hotel facilities are new, the service staff has a good attitude, and the price-performance ratio is high4. Another user described in detail the decoration style of the hotel lobby and rooms, which is a bit old, but the service details and facilities are well maintained5.

LLyss_ssI made a reservation online for 4 days, and on the 4th day I went to the hotel front desk to renew for 2 more days for a total of 6 nights (renewal on site was very expensive, official website price). During this period, I changed rooms once because the room I got for the first time was too low and had no view.
The facilities are rudimentary, and there are no slippers and pajamas. Not to mention that many American hotels don’t have them. The ambient light under the bed in the second room was broken. The wardrobe door was deformed and could not be closed. When the right cabinet door was opened, it would hit the bulge on the top. The air outlet can only be opened to about 60 degrees and cannot be fully opened. The faucet is obviously too short and difficult to use. These are all errors in design and construction, which are outrageous.
One night at 1:30 in the morning, the fire alarm in the room announced that there was a fire. After broadcasting it four times, we all planned to run away. Then the broadcast said it was okay. The alarm buzzer and the loudspeaker were loud. The white girl next door said that she immediately went to find a job. Personnel but no one, outrageous.
The staff are very good-looking.
The design of the hotel space is very good. As we all know, there is no design in the United States, so we come here just for the sense of design. The experience is average. If I go to New York again, I will not come back.

WWubirongguangThe hotel had overcharged me $150.
When I first checked in in the hotel, they changed $150 for upgrade. This is ok
They also retained us $150 as deposit.
The hotel advised us that the hotel wouldl issue us two free tickets for city tour. Also, the hotel advised us we would have $150 credit while shopping or eating in the hotel. When we checked out, we found the hotel did not gave the credit to us and took away our deposit.
We had to spend 30 minutes to explain and to wait for the staff processing. Finally. The staff corrected the mistake and printed a new invoice to us.
However, I found the hotel still kept changing that $150.
I just returned from a international trip and am wondering how to communicate with you.
Bad experience!
GGuest UserAfter reading the reviews on here I wasn’t expecting too much from this hotel. I wanted to write some comments that reflect on the main themes I picked up (where they were similar and different). It seems I wasn’t charged the additional destination fee for my stay, although I had to ask a second member of staff to confirm as the first wasn’t clear. When I arrived for check in there was no wait. The staff member was not terribly friendly and welcoming. Of all the three hotels I stayed at in three different cities in the US, this stuck out as the poorest customer service. It wasn’t awful just not as welcoming as the other places. The information provided was not as clear and the general manner quite abrupt. The room was clean but the hotel generally was dated. The rooms didn’t seem fully clean or fresh but it was more that things were scratched, worn and dated rather than dirty. There were some stains on the carpet too. The location was, as others have said, excellent. I would have expected more for the price but it also was better than expected from reading some of the reviews on here.

MMisti WallerWe get there at 10:00am - We knew we couldnt check in but asked anyway. Lady on Thurs 9/28 told me we couldnt yet and gave us bag tags to hold our bags for us. Very nice and pleasant. We then return to the hotel at 9pm to finally check in. We had a great day seeing the city. We are then told that the room I booked was over sold and they can not provide me with a King that I purchased but a double. This was the manager - She discounted the bill and $54 and told me they would make sure we were accommodated tomorrow. The room we were put it was the size of a walk in closet with a bed with a window unit that water dropped on all night making a loud noise with every drop. It also had a broken shelf above the sink so you literally had no where to put anything. It was horrible and honestly a $54 discount was not nearly enough.
Friday at 9am we come down turn in the room keys and explain to yet a third person....she understands and says I see notes here and we have a king room for you. I asked if we could go ahead and get the room number but she said no not yet we have to wait for the people to check out. We check our bags with tags and leave them at the desk again. We then spend another wonderful day exploring the city. We return around 9pm again and another person is working and has absolutely no idea of anything that was supposed to be done for us. I asked for any other room then the one we were in first and they had a queen room available. I took it after being so tired. The lady gave me the managers email and said he would speak to her for us. I will be reaching out but now that we checked out sat morning I dont believe we will be compensated for this terrible lack of communication. We never even got to unpack our bags.
KKaren TriunfoFor its price and location, you can never go wrong. Room is clean though doesn’t provide amenities like water. Just towels. It’s in the corner of central park and lots of coffee shop and stores nearby. Near bus stop and subway. Can walk to timesquare. Bathroom is shared but always clean. Will stay again if I can go back to NYC
AAshley NicoleThe hotel is in an excellent location. It’s very easy to get around by walking or hopping on the metro. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful, but the hotel itself is in need of renovations (as other reviews have stated). If the hotel were to make those renovations I would stay again.
