"Sakura Terrace is only 3 mins walking from Kyoto station, there are 2 blocks seperating by the main road. There is a taxi stand next to it too. I like the free Spa and sauna. I also enjoy the free drink offers in the evening with a variety of alcohol. . You need to be early for the breakfast else you will be stuck in the queue outside."

"From the entrance to the inn, I was able to have a luxurious experience in a historic townscape that was beyond my imagination. The room is clean and I am very satisfied! In addition, when using the lounge, the hospitality of the staff was excellent, offering fragrant tea and alcohol, and we were able to have fun conversations. They gave me a lot of suggestions to make my stay in Kyoto wonderful, and it was fun! The service was excellent, with alcohol being brought to your room instead of just in the lounge. thank you."

"Hotel Material was a great value stop in our tour of Japan. We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four and it provided everything we needed. The bunks were large and ample for even adults. The sunken king bed was unusual, but easily the largest bed I slept in in Japan and well worth the investment. The shower was also excellent with both great water pressure and was tall enough to accommodate me at 6ft without sitting, a first for me here. The room was clean and well presented and even came with some games to occupy the kids. The staff weee helpful and happy to look after our bags before check in. The hotel also has a lovely roof terrace available which we weren’t expecting."

"Business Traveler. Hotel aesthetic was very cool from the basement library and kitchen to the Gin Bar. Service at check was fast and efficient. Room size was a little small but manageable (similar in size to many Japanese Business Hotels) so more than one person would be tight. Also might be difficult to work in the room but you can always go down to the basement where they have comfortable chairs and tables. Location was convenient and only a 5-7 minute walk to Kyoto Station. I would consider to stay again when I visit Kyoto in the future."

"Convenient location. 1 min walk away from bus stop and train station. 15-20 mins away from Kyoto station. Quite a lot of things nearby to shop and explore! Beautiful temples and sceneries. You can take a short bus ride to Nishiki Market and Gion District. AMAZING ROOM, huge & we got upgraded bc they had a lack of rooms. Will definitely come back to this hotel agn. If you need anything like HDMI adaptor, etc u can just ask the counter, they have a lot of things hidden in their storage. Super clean, super neat and enjoyed the onsen bath."

"First of all, I have to say that the toiletries in the room are good, all from POLA, and the bath salts are great. Every day, a small POLA set is given, including facial cleanser, lotion, day cream, and night cream. It is super considerate and easy to use! The coffee and tea at the small bar are full every day, and the daily mineral water is never forgotten. There is a laundry room and a microwave oven and ice machine on the second floor for self-service use 👍 There is also a dedicated smoking room. The location of the hotel is also good. It is in the small street opposite the entrance of Hanami-koji. It is less than 50 meters away. At night, the street is brightly lit at night, so you don’t have to worry about not having food. Turn left when you go out and you will reach Yasaka Shrine. Go straight to the entrance of Hanami-koji, and the river is not far to the right. Cross the river to the central business district. The location is impeccable! If there is a flaw, it is that the whole building is closed. Although the fresh air system is very good. But for someone like me who is claustrophobic, it is a bit uncomfortable and feels stuffy. If you don’t care, you can completely ignore it. The attitude of the hotel management staff is fine 👍"

"There are bunk beds that kids love very much. The washing machine has detergent, which is very convenient. I like the dining table very much. After playing outside for a day and taking a shower, the whole family sits in the small living room to watch TV, eat snacks and drink beverages. It is very relaxing! It takes about 7-8 minutes to walk to Karasuma Oike Station. There is a Family Mart 100 meters away. The front desk can communicate in English. The room is not cleaned every day, but they will ask what time is convenient to enter the room to collect the garbage. Next time I come to Japan, I will definitely stay at Home Inn again."

"Gorgeous hotel with a convenient location close to the core of Kyoto. It's quiet yet easily accessible to the noisier/crowded parts ie. Sanjo station or department stores. It's comfortable enough for a couple with a huge bathroom and a separate toilet area. A delicious welcome drink & snack was offered upon arrival and they have a free snack bar downstairs where the onsen & laundry area is. The onsen was very clean with amenities provided and enough lockers/ cosmetics station(hair dryer & lotions/gels). I saw a lot of tourists from different countries staying here and everyone seemed to enjoy their stay. Saw some comments about the fire station/ noise but it didn't really bother me or my husband much so I found it quite minor as everything else worked out well with my itinerary and trip plans. Greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to revisit again soon."

CCarolinHotel was super nice! I loved almost everything. The room was very big for Japanese standards and the staff was very professional and fluent in English. Location couldn’t be better, right next to Kyoto Station and a lot of options for shopping and dining. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. They divide it in a western and japanese breakfast. But the western breakfast didn’t really have much western choices. And the coffee was not good. This could be improved. Otherwise it was a perfect stay and I would recommend it. :-)

YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!

AAiliIt is a lovely place to stay with a fancy roof top bar. The location is okay, not far away from Kiyomizu dera temple, but still several bus stops from Kyoto Station. The hotel does provide shuttle bus to Kyoto Station but only allows carry-on luggages. The breakfast from the a la carte menu is mainly omelette, so you will probably get bored of it after trying for two consecutive days. The drip coffee provided by the hotel is amazing. Overall, a good experience to stay at this hotel. The bonus goes to the skincare products they provided for free.

GGuest UserFirst of all, thank you to the front desk staff who check us in when we encounter error on the self check in and gave us a free upgrade… ours was the compact room or something and was at a lower level, she upgraded us to a higher floor on level 7 with a view of the train station. Thank you for making our trip in Kyoto a memorable one. The room was big with a long sofa which we can sit and have our meals, enjoy the view and even put our large luggage. Will book again next trip to Kyoto. Sorry didn’t managed to ask for your name. Throughly enjoy my stay with this hotel and it’s pretty near to aeon mall and konbini stores. Thanks again!

FFaniaKVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights

JJasmineThe room is compact, as expected for a typical Japanese hotel, but it’s well-equipped with thoughtful features like a washing machine, microwave, and bathtub. Essentials such as a hairdryer, electric kettle, air purifier/humidifier, air-conditioning, and basic toiletries are all provided. In the lobby, you can help yourself to additional amenities like combs, toothbrushes, razors, cotton buds, and body sponges. Housekeeping changes towels and clears trash daily, provided you place the designated magnet outside your door. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available at the lobby’s self-service corner. From 3–8 PM, there’s a free snack bar and a sake corner. At check-in, we received 12 coin tokens (for three people over five nights), which can be exchanged for sake—non-alcoholic options are available too. The only downside is a slightly damp, musty smell in the room. Location-wise, it’s excellent—just a short walk from the train station and close to convenience stores. Note that there’s no complimentary breakfast buffet
